Co-Founder of Orli La Jolla
Maxwell Waitt is an entrepreneur and hospitality developer based in Southern California, with a thoughtful approach to destination travel, boutique real estate, and custom development. Born in Sioux City, Iowa, and raised in Southern California, his early travels and stays at distinctive hospitality properties around the world shaped his understanding of what today’s discerning traveler values in a guest experience.
That perspective ultimately led Maxwell to co-found Orli, a boutique hospitality brand, alongside his sister, Hailey. The brand debuted in October 2022 with Orli La Jolla, set within a historic Irving Gill property that thoughtfully blends century-old architecture with an effortlessly modern guest experience.
Before launching Orli, Maxwell graduated with honors from the University of Southern California in 2020 with a degree in Business Administration and a focus on real estate finance. He also gained experience at Relevant Group, a Hollywood-based hotel development company behind properties under the Dream, Thompson, and Tommie brands.
Through Orli, Maxwell brings together his background in real estate, development, and global travel to create distinctive hospitality experiences rooted in thoughtful design, a strong sense of place, and attention to detail.
