Founder of HOY Hotel Paris
HOY (Home of Yoga) but also means “today” in Spanish is a yoga hotel in the heart of the 9th arrondissement in Paris. HOY was founded by Charlotte Gomez de Orozco. Franco-Mexican and passionate about the hotel and restaurant industry, she imagined and created this place just like the hotels she would have loved to travel to.
A hotel where yoga is at the heart of the concept, offering more than 6 hours of yoga a day, all levels, but also sound healing sessions, aromatherapy and sophrology workshops. HOY has also a restaurant: la MESA de hoy (Today’s table) with a 100% plant-based menu. A flower shop, la floreria, two holistic care rooms and twenty two rooms designed with feng shui and environmentally friendly furniture.
She loves to create and imagine a more sustainable and responsible hotel industry where every little detail and daily custom can change and impact the world in a positive way.
“I was born and raised in Mexico and moved to Paris when I was 13 years old. From a hospitality business family, I grew up in front desks and breakfast rooms, seeing my grandmother work all day long. My family have and has a very traditional way of working. As I grew up, and learned more about this industry, going to a hospitality school in Switzerland, but also being a young girl living in 2021, I thought a lot of traditions and way of working had to evolve. Having a more sustainable way to approach things, but also creating a better place for people to work in, putting your people’s mental and global health first. Giving people a reason to wake up in the morning and knowing they are making a difference in a world that needs to be acknowledged. That also applies to our clients. All of them are in their own way, choosing to travel in a different way and doing their part in the building of tomorrow. My main motivation today, is to find a better way to create things, to deliver a quality and responsible service to my clients but without leaving the planet behind.”
