Boutique Hotel Owner: Kevin O’Shea

Co-Founder & Chief Creative Officer of Salt Hotels

Graduating with his B.F.A. in Interior Architecture from the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design, Kevin pursued a career in corporate hotel design working first for Starwood Hotels and Resorts launching design initiatives for the newly acquired Le Meridién brand in 2006. Kevin then joined the corporate design team at Morgans Hotel Group, where he oversaw various aspects of interior design in the existing portfolio as well as many new projects during his tenure. Kevin’s passion for the brand is evident in such projects as Sky Terrace at Hudson Hotel in New York City and Agua Spas in Scottsdale, Arizona and Los Angeles, California that he redesigned.

In 2009 Kevin O’Shea Designs, LLC was founded as a full-service interior design studio specializing in hospitality and residential projects. Kevin O’Shea Designs has also completed residential projects in New York City and Cape Cod, an executive office at Sony World Headquarters in New York, restaurants on Cape Cod and Boston, and his own home, The Martin House which has been featured by This Old House and The New York Times. In 2011 Kevin turned Salt House Inn into Provincetown’s most stylish hostelry with its original take on traditional colonial aesthetics, leading the property to numerous design awards and serving as the launchpad for Salt Hotels. 2014 saw the launch of Eben House in Provincetown, MA. and The Chequit in Shelter Island, NY both designed by Kevin. 2021 saw the launch of Hutton Brickyards in Kingston, NY and Hotel Greystone in Miami Beach both of which Kevin was heavily involved in the interior design and branding. Kevin sits on the board of the Provincetown Arts Association and Museum as Vice President.
