Owner & Creative Director, The Culver Hotel

Hotelier and Creative Director Maya Mallick is responsible for bringing the historic Culver Hotel in Los Angeles back to life, transforming it into a beacon for the community and one of the most iconic boutique hotels in the city. Under Mallick’s stewardship, The Culver Hotel swiftly became an artful and lively gathering place for in-the-know Angelenos, playing an integral part in the renaissance of Culver City, and earning the property many accolades, including being named one of the “Best Hotels in Los Angeles” by Travel + Leisure. Mallick was also the recipient of the Chamber’s “Trailblazer Award” acknowledging her extraordinary contribution in revitalizing Culver City and the National Landmark as a premiere destination.
Drawing from her passion for design and experiential curation, Mallick was able to bring back the classic elegance and nostalgia of the 1920’s, and reimagine the architectural jewel through an artistic and modern lens – not just as a hotel, but a creative venue for exclusive events, live music, memorable culinary experiences and local collaborations. Mallick has always been drawn to the world of boutique hotels because they are creative platforms that bring together design and community through curated programming unique to a property’s story, character and neighborhood.
Mallick is also the owner of Hotel Beverly Terrace, a mid century boutique hideaway in Beverly Hills, and Riviera Beach House, a casually chic seaside getaway in the heart of Santa Barbara’s artsy Funk Zone neighborhood.
