One-of-one, awe-inspiring, genuine, authentic, timeless: Michael Kitchen has used these governing principles to facilitate the strategic growth of Aparium from the company’s beginning. Kitchen oversees the strategic growth of Aparium Hotel Group, a vertically-integrated hotel operator that sponsors and develops much of its portfolio of independent hotels throughout the US. In addition, Kitchen oversees the design, positioning, and programming of all Aparium hotels and food and beverage venues. 

Kitchen previously worked in a consulting capacity focusing primarily on full-service luxury and boutique hotels and resorts including development, repositioning, food and beverage, and disposition advisory. Prior to that, Kitchen managed and repositioned a Relais and Chateaux boutique resort and restaurant in the British Virgin Islands and participated in the development, sales, and marketing of a neighboring ultra-luxury resort development.  

Kitchen is a graduate of Michigan State University where he sits on the Real Estate Investment Management Advisory Board and guest lectures regularly. Kitchen is also a frequent contributor to various industry publications and conferences focused on transactions, development, operations, and/or design.
