Robin D. Staten, is head of the innovative new genre in boutique hospitality, Tiny Urban Escapes. As founder and CEO, she is very focused on the vision and trajectory of the brand, its environmental impact, grass roots social responsibility practices and benefits to local communities.
Before becoming an hotelier, Robin spent all of her professional career in higher education administration working in the areas of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. She notes she made the change from higher education administration to hospitality because she believes in the transformative power of authentic hospitality and its ability to connect individuals and communities.
Ms. Staten has experienced much pre-launch success with features in global media outlets including the New York Times, Architectural Digest, House and Garden and many other notable outlets.
Robin is a fervent supporter of her childhood community in her home city of Indianapolis. Her advocacies around issues that disproportionately affect the African American community such as Sickle Cell Anemia and Social Inequalities are dear to her heart. She is a wife and proud mother of twin boys and a daughter who are all currently pursuing post-secondary academic careers at universities in Indiana.
