Nu By YOO Brings Philippe Starck’s Vision to Melbourne

From Hospitality Net: A major project is reshaping Melbourne’s Domain Precinct—the Nu By YOO hotel within the $180 million First Light development, led by DCF Property Group. Known for high-quality, transformative builds, DCF has partnered with renowned designer Philippe Starck and YOO Group co-founder John Hitchcox for this venture. The Nu By YOO will be part of a mixed-use project with 97 luxury rooms and a celebrated Food and Beverage partner.

Reflecting on the project’s scope, DCF Property Group shared, “This world-class development will not only reshape the city’s skyline but also deliver significant economic benefits to Victoria.” The hotel is managed by La Vie Hotels and Resorts and will bring Starck’s distinctive, modern aesthetic to the heart of Melbourne.

A 1,000-Year Journey at Reschio Estate in Umbria

From Wallpaper Magazine: The historic Reschio Estate in Umbria has been meticulously documented in Rizzoli’s new book, Reschio: The First Thousand Years. This 3,700-acre estate, anchored by a thousand-year-old castle, embodies Italian heritage, blending luxurious design with pastoral charm. Count Benedikt Bolza, who has overseen the estate’s transformation, describes the experience of staying at Reschio as “a stay as unique as the landscape it’s set within.”

Bolza’s approach to restoration is as thoughtful as it is detailed, with hand-drawn furniture and lighting designs crafted locally. Bolza explains, “Each space—from interiors to landscape—carries a bespoke touch that honors both the past and the vibrant beauty of Umbria.” Guests can choose to stay in the restored estate houses or the castle itself, enjoying the estate’s equestrian center, farm-to-table dining, and spa.

Urban Cowboy Hotels Brings a Vintage Maximalist Vision to Denver

From Hospitality Design: Urban Cowboy Hotels has made its debut in the West with a new property in Denver’s historic Capitol Hill neighborhood. This Gilded Age mansion, designed in the 1880s, has been reimagined as a “vintage maximalist haven,” blending quirky, Western-inspired details with rich historical architecture.

Co-founder Jersey Banks, a Denver native, shared, “To be able to bring Urban Cowboy out west is something we’ve thought about since the inception of the brand, and the opportunity to reimagine this historic mansion in my hometown is a dream come true.” Highlights include hand-carved ceilings, original staircases adorned with gargoyles, and unique decor pieces sourced across the U.S., making each guestroom as distinctive as the property itself.
