Mauri Waneka

Founder, SCHWET

Mauri Waneka is a New York–based entrepreneur and real estate developer known for creating places that feel both transportive and deeply alive. She began her career as the youngest hotelier in the country, building and operating a boutique hotel and members club that she later sold to Soho House, now known as Holloway House. Her second hospitality project, Camp Kasbah in Aspen, earned recognition in Vogue, further cementing her instinct for culturally resonant experiences. Mauri is now the founder of SCHWET, which reimagines the bathhouse as a hedonistic social club where detox and retox unfold in equal measure, shaped by her instinct for hosting some of the best dinner parties in New York. SCHWET opens this summer in Tribeca and is already hosting private events for the not so faint of heart.
