Sky Mitchell

Sky Mitchell is the founder behind two hospitality portfolios, Basecamp Resorts and Everwild Nordic Spa & Hotels, which are now being brought together under a new parent name currently in development. What started with nothing, after being fired from her corporate job, has grown into $580 million in real estate projects across Western Canada's mountain communities.

Basecamp Resorts is an 11-property portfolio spanning boutique hotels, for-sale residential, and long-term rental housing across Canmore, Banff, Revelstoke, and Kananaskis. Everwild Nordic Spa & Hotels is a separate, growing portfolio of wellness destinations, with one location currently operating in Canmore and three more underway in Banff, Fernie, and Harmony.

Sky's approach has never followed a traditional playbook. She pioneered a retail investor model that opens hotel development up to everyday people through Instagram rather than relying on institutional capital alone, proof that the biggest opportunity in hospitality isn't always where operators expect to find it. She's now bringing that same instinct into urban centres and the US as both portfolios expand under their new shared parent name.
