Rob Bukacek

I grew up in Huntington Beach, CA. As a teenager, I worked for a sole proprietor after school restoring VW’s – fueling my love for anything automotive. I worked in the hospitality industry for sixteen years, thirteen of them in management, and then spent a few years in managing 300+ unit luxury apartment complexes. I excelled in that industry but struggled with being the bad guy when times got rough for folks.

When I entered financial services, I focused on retirement savings and employee benefits for public employees, gaining expertise in CalSTRS and CalPERS. Soon, I had a thriving practice but not a lot of my clients were into the things I love to talk about – cars & camping. So, I decided to make a change and work with business owners in the automotive aftermarket and the outdoors industry. Meetings run a little longer now because of the constant tangents, but my wardrobe is so much more comfortable!

Today, my practice focuses on far more than saving for retirement because, as everyone should know, life is what happens while you’re making plans. There’s a great quote from the movie, “Road House”, arguably the best movie ever. “Those looking for trouble are not much of a problem for someone ready for them.” The same is absolutely true when designing a financial plan. When problems come along, a great plan will be ready to handle them. That is why I now specialize in estate, insurance, tax and business succession planning.

It's probably no surprise at this point that I like spending my spare time getting lost in the wilderness in one of my Jeeps. But where you’ll usually find me is at home in Alta Loma, CA with my wonderful fiancé, Lisa, and our two Australian Shepherds, Charlie and Ruby. Of the five kids Lisa and I brought to this relationship from our previous errors in judgement, the youngest at age 22 has yet to venture out on her own and keeps us from claiming the title of “empty nesters.” Someday…
