The BLLA team sits down with Sonya Jamula, Head of Hospitality at DISH Business, to discuss what it means to be boutique.

BLLA: What is the mission statement of your company?

SJ: “We take care of your entertainment so you can focus on what matters most: your guests.”

BLLA: Why are you excited to be a member of BLLA?

SJ: “We are excited to be a part of BLLA because we are committed to serving hoteliers who set out to provide a truly unique experience for their guests. BLLA is doing the important work of supporting independent and truly one of a kind properties and we are excited to help in that work.”

BLLA: How do you help boutique hotels thrive?

SJ: “DISH Business makes entertainment capabilities guests have come to expect, available to hotels of all sizes. From live sports, children and news programming to streaming and casting, to live TV on any device, DISH Business can help any hotel meet and exceed the ever evolving expectations of today’s traveler.”

BLLA: How are you well suited to meet the needs of boutique hotels?

SJ: “DISH Business has a diverse group of best-in-class technology partners that can design guest entertainment experiences tailored to the unique needs of every property. From app integration and casting to integrated room controls and guest personalization, our partners embrace the opportunity to deliver solutions to those who like to think outside the box.”

BLLA: Why do you believe boutique hoteliers are more open-minded than traditional hoteliers?

SJ: “Boutique hoteliers are committed to providing a unique experience to their guests. This commitment to be unique makes boutique hoteliers more open to trying new and exciting technologies.  Boutique hotels operate with a level of creative freedom that makes them open to trying new things that could help turn guests into repeat guests.”

BLLA: Why do you believe in the boutique movement?

SJ: “The landscape of the hospitality industry has changed dramatically over the last few years. As the industry as a whole is slowly recovering from the effects of the pandemic, a distinct trend has begun to emerge: Leisure travel is picking up more and more of the slack left by the reduction in business travel. With Leisure travel leading the way, boutique and independent hotels that can provide unique and memorable experiences are the obvious candidates to reap the rewards.”
